System Director of Clinical Analytics
## Description
**Role Purpose:**
Provides leadership in analytics and analysis for the SSM Health Clinical enterprise in partnership with the Chief Quality Officer as well as other organizational leaders. Builds reliable, integrated, evidence and data driven approaches for achieving excellence in system-wide quality and safety. As a strong analytic partner, focuses on using data to drive clinical delivery strategies that ensure patient-centered care and quality outcomes. Will standardize quality measurement, apply rigorous methodology and data-driven approaches for process improvement in clinical quality and support the clinical enterprise. Will develop effective channels to disseminate findings and analysis through the organization.
* Builds high level intelligence in analytics to provide ongoing assessment for everyone in a population, and maximize the opportunities to determine and evaluate the effectiveness of interventions at the population, provider and person level.
* Assembles cross functional and virtual teams through proven collaboration, organizational nimbleness and ability to manage influence and relationships
* Provides analytical intelligence to build a transformational and dynamic ecosystem that drives macro transformation at the system level and micro transformation at the personal level, and removes irreducible complexity
* Equips clinical and operational decision makers with predictive, descriptive and prescriptive analytical insights to promote experiential impact on a person's health and bring transformative intelligence to providers and organizations
* Enables a new level of proficiency, discernibility, and assimilation measured in health outcomes, utilization of care, healthcare access, effective transitions of care, evidence-based workflows, person and provider satisfaction and cost.
* Supports physician peer review, OPPE and FPPE and support systems quality improvement initiatives that address care gaps identified from these processes.
* Supports analytics of best practices and variation reduction in clinical processes, particularly those that do not meet expectations of regulatory bodies such as The Joint Commission, and CMS by supporting quality improvement initiatives.
* Actively coaches the health system staff and leaders how to use data and analysis
* Partners with medical informatics to design safe, high quality workflows
* Develops long and short term business strategies and operational plans and monitors execution on key performance indicators
* Fosters effective relationships within the hospitals and clinics, academic programs, medical and patient care staff, and with external agencies and stakeholders related to quality and safety analytics
* Manages the division budget to meet fiscal requirements and achieve department goals
* Creates healthy work environment for staff by recruiting talent, mitigating personnel performance gaps according to human resource guidelines, and mentoring the team
* Participates with our academic partners to support research.
## Qualifications
**Minimum Requirements:**
* Bachelor's degree in biostatistics, mathematics, economics, actuarial sciences, physics or analytics. Master's degree in informatics, biostatics, decision sciences or machine learning
* 6+ years of experience in healthcare data analytics
* Pervious management experience in leading, training and mentoring the reporting an analytics team by providing guidance, prioritizing tasks, implementing quality controls protocols and ensuring operational excellence
* Experience leading medium to large data management operations
* Strong critical thinking skills and ability to perform critical analysis with limited oversight
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Advanced degree preferred (ex: Ph.D.)
